Swinburne World Wide Web

Welcome to the OPAX users public Web info page.

This page provides some information to OPAX users who want to to put up their own web pages.

How to Create your own WWW Pages.

First of all you need to activate your www directory in which you can put the HTML files.
To do this, login to opax.swin.edu.au using telnet and select "7. More Menu Options" then select option "6. Activate your www directory".

To upload HTML files to the web server, you need to use an FTP client to log into opax.swin.edu.au. Once connected there should be a 'public_html' directory in your home directory in which you can transfer your files.

Your page reference

Your web page is available to the Internet as: http://opax.swin.edu.au/~idnumber
where idnumber is the 7 digits ID number.
For example, the page of student "1234567" can be referenced as: http://opax.swin.edu.au/~1234567
